Getting Involved

The following are ways you can contribute to OpenSHA:

  1. Evaluate pre-release versions of applications.

  2. Help with the Java code development. Don't be intimidated here - Java is very simple, easy, and fun to learn. In fact, the best way to learn Java is by getting involved in a project such as this. We'll tell you how to get started.

  3. Help design the various SHA object classes (this does not require knowledge of Java or any other programming language). An example here would be developing a scheme for handling the triangular-surface representations of faults in the OpenSHA framework (currently faults are represented as an evenly discretized surface).

  4. If you want to join the OpenSHA Java code development, here is the document which can help you get access to source code.
    Access OpenSHA from CVS.
