Distance Parameter
This parameter, used in some Attenuation Relationships, gives a measure of the distance between an Earthquake Rupture and a Location (or Site).
Currently supported types:
- DistanceRup - the shortest distance to the Rupture Surface.
- DistanceSeis - the shortest distance a the point on the Rupture Surface that is deeper than some minimum Seismogenic Depth.
- DistanceJB - Joyner-Boore Distance defined as the shortest distance to the surface projection of the Rupture Surface.
- (distRup-distJB)/distRup - This expresses the difference between DistanceRup and DistanceJB (normalized by DistanceRup). It is sometimes used as a proxy for a hanging wall term (e.g., in our implementation of the NGA Relationships).
