Frankel Fault Surface
This is a type of Evenly Gridded Surface that is based the finite-fault representation used in the 1996 and 2002 USGS National Seismic Hazard Maps (specifically, from the Fortan code written by Arthur Frankel).
Simple Fault Data are taken as input, and a rectangular surface is generated for each set of neighboring Locations in the Fault Trace, where each rectangle dips in a direction perpendicular to the local strike defined by those neighboring Locations. Each rectangular surface is then discretized according to the discretization interval specified.
